Is friendship really forever when your bandmate shows up to your wedding in WHITE? Because apparently, even decades of girl power can’t prevent a wardrobe scandal, honey.

Melanie Chisholm, better known as Sporty Spice, recently tied the knot with her longtime beau Chris Dingwall in picturesque Cumbria, England, serving absolute BRIDAL PERFECTION in a custom Victoria Beckham white gown. But plot twist—while Posh Spice herself was mysteriously absent from the festivities, Geri Halliwell actually showed up to the celebration in… wait for it… WHITE. Girl, NO.

According to sources, Mel C had to have what she’s calling a casual ‘chat’ with Geri about her bold fashion choice. And let’s be real, when a bride tells you she had to ‘chat’ with someone, that’s diplomat speak for ‘we had WORDS, darling.’ Emma Bunton and Mel B were also in attendance, presumably watching this unfold like it was the drama-filled reunion special we never knew we needed.

The kicker? Mel C designed her entire wedding aesthetic around that stunning VB white dress. So when Geri rolled up in white, it was basically like showing up to someone’s dinner party and ordering the EXACT same outfit. Not cute, not cool, not girl power-ish.

What makes this whole situation even MORE delicious is that these women have literally performed ‘Wannabe’ together thousands of times. They’ve conquered the music industry, influenced fashion, and built an empire. Yet somehow, a simple unwritten rule about NOT wearing white to someone else’s wedding apparently didn’t make it into their friendship manual.

Thankfully, Mel C is keeping it classy about the entire situation, chalking it up to a simple misunderstanding rather than a full-blown feud. Because let’s face it, after everything these queens have been through together, one wardrobe mishap isn’t going to break up the band again. Besides, we all know Victoria Beckham is the TRUE fashionista of the group—she probably would’ve snatched the dress off Geri’s body herself.

The wedding was absolutely gorgeous by all accounts, and Mel C looked radiant. Let’s just hope Geri learned her lesson about the sacred no-white-to-weddings rule. Some traditions are sacred, babe.

What do you think? A) Geri should have known better—white at someone else’s wedding is a cardinal sin B) It’s just a dress; people are making a mountain out of a molehill
