Is Justin Baldoni’s legal strategy basically just throwing money at problems and hoping they disappear? Because honey, that’s exactly what’s happening right now, and we are LIVING for the chaos!

According to court documents that TMZ obtained (because of course they did), Baldoni’s production company Wayfarer Studios has been ordered to pay The New York Times a whopping $171,616 in legal fees after their lawsuit against the publication was completely dismissed. That’s right, darling—not only did the case get tossed faster than last season’s fashion, but Justin had to foot the bill for the NYT’s legal team. Ouch! Talk about adding insult to injury, or should we say, adding legal fees to embarrassment?

The lawsuit was initially filed in December 2024, and apparently it had all the staying power of a bad dye job. The court was clearly not impressed with whatever argument Wayfarer Studios was trying to make, and judges showed them the door faster than you can say “strategic error.” Now our boy Justin is basically paying for his own defeat, and we cannot stop laughing about it.

Baldoni’s team has been eerily silent on the matter, with Us Magazine’s attempts to get a comment going absolutely nowhere. Shocking! It’s almost like they don’t want to talk about losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in a legal battle. Who could’ve guessed? When you’re hemorrhaging that much cash, sometimes silence really is golden—or at least less expensive than hiring a PR team to spin this disaster.

This is just the latest in what appears to be a seriously rough patch for the actor and studio mogul. Between the legal battles and the mounting costs, you have to wonder what’s next on the agenda for Baldoni’s empire. Will he learn from this expensive mistake, or will we be covering another jaw-dropping lawsuit soon? Only time will tell, but our receipts are ready!

The real question here is: did Justin Baldoni’s legal team completely botch this case, or was it doomed from the start? Either way, The New York Times just got paid a nice little settlement, and that’s something to celebrate. Meanwhile, Baldoni is over $170K lighter and probably regretting some recent life choices. Yikes!

What do you think? A) Justin needs to fire his entire legal team immediately B) This is exactly what happens when you mess with the media
