Is Chris Harrison finally ready to show us he’s more than just a walking scandal machine? After nearly five years of radio silence following his messy departure from The Bachelor, the former host is making a comeback – and honey, he brought his wife as backup.
That’s right, darling. Chris Harrison and his significantly younger spouse Lauren Zima have joined forces to create a brand new reality dating series, and apparently, they’re pitching it as “traditional” – which is absolutely RICH coming from a man who couldn’t survive a simple conversation about race without imploding his entire career. The couple sold the project to a network (because apparently someone still believes in him?), and Harrison spilled the tea to Us Weekly like he hasn’t spent the last five years hiding under a rock.
According to our sources, Harrison developed this show entirely on his own dime, which we assume means Lauren was probably the actual creative force while he nodded along and looked handsome in meetings. The show promises to return dating to its “traditional” roots – and we’re LIVING for the irony of a man who helped create the messiest dating show television has ever seen now preaching about tradition and values.
“My wife and I sold and…” – well, that’s where the tea apparently gets too hot to handle, because Us Weekly cut off the quote faster than ABC cut Harrison from their payroll. We’re absolutely DYING to know what comes next. Was it about finding “real love”? Going back to basics? Proving that relationships can actually work? The suspense is killing us, and frankly, the vagueness is suspicious.
Fans are already divided on whether they even want to watch Harrison attempt redemption. Some are saying good for him for staying out of the spotlight, while others are screaming from the rooftops that they have zero interest in whatever “traditional” means coming from a man whose last public moments were nothing short of a PR nightmare. The jury is still very much out on whether audiences are ready to welcome him back into their living rooms.
What do you think? A) Chris Harrison deserves a second chance at hosting/producing B) We’d rather watch literally anything else than support his comeback
