Is it really that hard to NOT wear white to someone else’s wedding? Girl, we need to talk about Eras Tour dancer Tori Evans and the absolute MESS she created at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s luxe wedding celebration.

On Saturday, July 4th, Evans—who’s been serving looks as one of Swift’s backup dancers—posted a getting-ready video for the star-studded nuptials that had the internet absolutely SPIRALING. And honey, it wasn’t because her makeup was flawless (though it was). No, it was because this 33-year-old decided that wearing a WHITE GOWN to Taylor and Travis’s big day was totally appropriate. Um, excuse me? Since when is that ever acceptable?

For those living under a rock, there’s literally ONE unwritten rule in the wedding guest handbook: thou shalt NOT wear white unless you’re the bride. Period. Full stop. No exceptions. But apparently, Evans didn’t get that memo, or maybe she thought she was too fabulous to follow basic etiquette. Newsflash: nobody is.

The backlash was SWIFT (pun intended), with social media users dragging Evans through every platform imaginable. Twitter was LIVID. TikTok was FURIOUS. Instagram comments were absolutely BRUTAL. People were calling her tacky, tone-deaf, and basically questioning her entire decision-making process. And rightfully so!

But here’s where it gets interesting, darlings. While the internet was ready to crucify her, Evans’s husband TJ came through like the supportive partner we all secretly wish we had. He shut down the haters faster than you can say “fashion faux pas,” defending his wife and reminding everyone that maybe—just maybe—we should all chill out a bit. Sweet? Absolutely. Necessary? Debatable.

Look, we’re not saying Evans intentionally tried to steal Taylor’s thunder. But when you’re attending one of the most high-profile celebrity weddings of the decade, you’d think you’d do a quick Google search on wedding guest etiquette. White dresses are for BRIDES, backup dancers are for performances, and if you can’t follow the rules, maybe don’t post about it on social media where literally everyone can judge you.

The irony? Evans has spent months helping Taylor look absolutely STUNNING on stage during the Eras Tour. You’d think some of that fashion sense would translate to actual event dressing. Apparently not.

What do you think? A) Evans should have known better and the backlash is deserved B) Everyone’s overreacting and her dress choice wasn’t that big of a deal
